For this project, I worked with a team of journalists, programmers and legal experts to visualize the privacy policies of Apple, Amazon, Facebook and Google. The goal was to find not only what they explicitly allowed, but what was legally possible given the terms. We found the possibilities to be endless.
Turning legal language into something a computer program can visualize is difficult. What may appear to be a straight forward sentence can have wild ramifications. Using visualizations, we demonstrated the breadth of possibilities these tech companies they have available.
