As part of the Cross-Borders Data Fellowship at Columbia, my partners and I created a database containing examples of exploitation of religious rights for financial gain. We used that database to write a series of stories on the subject.
We partnered with 12 news organizations in nice countries across North and South America to report and right on this phenomenon. Aside from contributing to the data collection and reporting processes I was the main reporter on a piece about the largest fraud case in Utah's history which was committed by one of the leaders in a fundamentalist Mormon group.
